I picked this picture because people are having an internal war with each other and their selves.
This war is starting to over power all of the people and that's why i think it needs to stop.

I like this picture because there is too much violence in this neighborhood and that's not a good place to grow up because you learn what you see and if you do what you see you may end up in prison or something.

Farm Security Administration Photos

On Monday we talked about the photographers who were hired by the Farm Security Administration during the Great Depression to document poor famers and workers. For class this Wednesday, you need to look at some of these photographs on The Library of Congress website. We will go out and photograph around the neighborhood thinking about what our photographs are documenting and saying about our environment.

CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND KNOWING YOUR HISTORY

Last month was february... The month of BLACK HISTORY. This month was also important because this is the month that celebrates 2 men that spoke out against the mistreatment of slaves. One was a president who cared about the African Americans and thought that they were equal, so he drawn up the Emanicipation Proclaimation to free the slaves and died for what he believed in... His name was ABRAHAM LINCOLN. The other man was a man who fought for the slaves, he was taught how to read and write. He even discovered the NORTH STAR ORGANIZATION. He even spoke at a Women's Convention and talked about how the women were equal to men... His name was FREDERICK DOUGLASS.

Everybody in my high school didn't pay that any mind but me. I thought that it would be very considered of me to celebrate my culture and the history of those who set down the foundation for African Americans and other ethnicites for a better tomorrow.

If it wasn't for people like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, and significant others... We as African Americans today would be going throught the same hardships they went thought 45-100 years ago probably. That made me upset because everybody was so busy worrying about themselves and the materialistic things that they didn't have enough time to just "LISTEN".

The background of Black History Month all started when it was "Negro History Week", then it was later called Black History Month. Even though we have been in this country since the colonial times since we could last remember, it wasnt until the 20th Century that African Americans have gained recognition in the history textbooks.

This was all started by a man named Dr. Carter G. Woodson of Kentucky.

As you can see you have just witness someone who was full of compassion and driven to let the whole world know about the contributions of African Americans and their inventions or other things that we used today.
It is important to know your history because one day you want to tell your children what significant things that Blacks have done and what hardship they went through and even how their lives were put to the test for fighting for civil rights or fought for better opportunities.

COUNTING DOWN TIL GRADUATION AND PROM

I cant wait until prom and graduation. To me prom is a BIG deal. When it comes to prom, you go "ALL OUT" and show people what you are wearing and make people real "JEALOUS" and so "ENVIOUS" that they want to scream. Prom comes once... well maybe TWICE (JUNIOR AND SENIOR YEAR) in your lifetime. I have already got my prom dress in the process in getting made, go the car already in stored ... PROBABLY GETTING A ROLLS ROYCE, the only thing I have to worry about is the SHOES, HAIR, and my DATE.

Graduation is a big step for me is because it marks the next foundation to becoming a young adult. I know that I am 18 and I am very mature, I make mistakes ... HELL .... Everyone says I'm goofy, but I know how to set aside my ALTER EGO and THE REAL ME. You can only graduate from High School only ONCE. After graduation, there will be alot of challenges coming my way, I have to suck it up and deal with the issues with words and not RETAILATION.

I am just happy after what I said in the 2 paragraphs their are no words to say. BUT ....

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!!!

Do You Think That Chris Brown Should Take The Full Blame

By now I'm pretty sure that you all heard about the Chris Brown and Rihanna drama and that everybody is blaming Chris Brown for everything that happened. I think that Chris Brown was wrong but at the same time I don't think that he should be taking all the blame for both of them. There are always two sides of a story and both of them should take equal blame for what happened.
